As much of Jacques Vanroose’s work, Ribbon dancer is an art piece inspired by dance. This work portrays a dancer performing an expressive and acrobatic routine with the aid of a ribbon.

 

The meticulous rendering of the human body in this bronze sculpture evokes feelings of awe and splendour.

ABOUT the designer

Jacques Vanroose

Jacques Vanroose is a Belgian artist who studied Plastic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges, where he’s also currently based. His preferred working media are bronze and ceramics. Most of Vanroose’s artwork is inspired by dance, more specifically ballet. The artist meticulously studies the human body in movement in order to create timeless sculptures. His sculptures are elegant and graceful, full of movement and emotion.
